Founding pilot — limited spots

An AI receptionist on the 3CX you already run.

No new number, no parallel phone system, no widget to forward calls to. The AI joins your 3CX like an extension and answers under the rules you set — deployed and operated by an Australian MSP that has run 3CX for years.

In short: yes — an AI receptionist can run on your existing 3CX system. It connects as a SIP destination, so your current number, call flows and after-hours rules keep working; 3CX simply routes to the AI when you want it answering. AI4SMB configures, tunes and monitors it — run by an MSP founder who has deployed business phone systems, 3CX included, for 32 years.

Why this works

Integration is the whole point.

It joins your 3CX — it does not replace it

The AI is another destination on the phone system you already run: reached through your existing call flows, ring groups and time-based rules. Your number, your trunks, your handsets all stay put.

Your routing rules, spoken instead of pressed

Callers say what they need instead of playing keypad bingo. The AI transfers to your existing extensions and queues under rules you sign off — and escalates to a human rather than bluffing.

Deployed by people who run 3CX every day

AI4SMB is built on an MSP that has deployed and supported 3CX and other PBXs for years. The AI vendor bolting a widget onto a system they have never administered is exactly what we are not.

Run like infrastructure

Monitoring, transcripts, hand-off rules, backups and support — the same operational discipline as the rest of your phone system, because for us it is part of your phone system.

Honest framing

Native 3CX AI, or a custom voice stack? Depends — and we'll say so.

Here's the part most vendors would hide: we sell the native option too. Our founder's MSP deploys 3CX with its built-in AI for clients today — it's quick to stand up, affordable, and for plenty of businesses it's the right call. The trade-off we disclose on every sale is the voice: the native AI runs on OpenAI's voice set, which currently has no Australian accent, and to local callers it sounds American. If that matters to your callers, the fix isn't a different phone system — it's a custom voice stack on the same 3CX: Australian-sounding, deeper business knowledge, onshore data options, and someone accountable for it in production. That stack is being built right now — it's what the founding pilot exists to prove, not a finished product. Start native today and upgrade when the custom stack is proven, or join the pilot cohort that proves it — the audit tells you which, honestly. One more disclosure, because it belongs in your decision: if you're choosing a PBX rather than already committed to 3CX, Yeastar's native AI ships Australian voices — we're migrating our own operation to it, and we'd rather you hear that from us than discover it later.

3CX + AI receptionist, straight answers

Can an AI receptionist work with my existing 3CX system?
Yes. The AI joins your 3CX like another destination on the phone system — reached via your existing call flow, ring groups and after-hours rules. Callers dial the number you already advertise; 3CX decides when the AI answers (after hours, on overflow, or first-line) exactly the way it routes any other extension. Nothing is ripped out and your number does not change.
How does the AI route callers to the right person or department?
The same way your 3CX does now — by transferring to the extensions, ring groups and queues you already have. The difference is that instead of a keypad menu, callers just say what they need. The AI matches it against routing rules you approve (sales to this group, urgent faults to that mobile, everything else to a message) and hands off. Escalation rules are explicit: when in doubt, it transfers or takes a message rather than guessing.
Doesn't 3CX have its own AI receptionist features now?
It does — and we should know, because we sell and deploy it: our founder's MSP ships 3CX with its native AI to clients today. For plenty of businesses it is the right answer, and we say so. The trade-off we disclose to every one of those clients is the voice: the native AI Receptionist runs on OpenAI's realtime speech model (gpt-realtime-1.5 at the time of writing), and OpenAI's voice set does not include an Australian accent — to local callers it reads as American (here is why). If the accent matters to your callers, that is exactly the gap our custom stack on the same 3CX exists to close — an Australian-sounding voice, deeper business knowledge, onshore data options, and production monitoring. Two options, one honest trade-off: the native option ships today, and the custom stack is what our founding pilot exists to prove.
What about the delay before the AI answers or responds?
Latency is the make-or-break detail of voice AI, and it is an engineering problem, not a setting. Response lag comes from the chain of speech recognition, the model, and voice synthesis — every link has to be tuned, and turn-taking (knowing when the caller has finished speaking) matters as much as raw speed. We test on real call patterns before go-live, and it is a core thing the founding pilot is validating in production. If a config cannot hold a natural conversation, it does not ship.
Do I need to upgrade or change my 3CX to use this?
Usually not. If your 3CX is on a reasonably current version and can route calls to a SIP destination — which is its day job — the AI can join it. During the audit we check your version, hosting (self-hosted or 3CX-hosted) and trunk setup, and tell you straight if anything needs attention first. We have deployed and run 3CX systems for years, so this check is quick.
What does an AI receptionist on 3CX cost?
Founding-pilot pricing is being finalised and is set per business — call volume and integration depth drive it. Because the 3CX integration uses the system you already own, you are not paying for a replacement phone platform. The audit that scopes it — analysis and a written report — is a fixed fee from $800 ex GST. Our honest cost breakdown explains what drives the price, and an audit call gets you a straight number for your setup.

Run 3CX? This is our home ground.

Book an audit call and we'll map your call flow on the system you already own — and tell you honestly whether an AI receptionist pays back, native or custom.
